October 2025- This fall, Vilas School District participated in the Student-Centered Accountability Program (S-CAP) review — a statewide process designed for rural districts to reflect on how well we support every aspect of student learning. Teams from across Colorado visited our classrooms, spoke with students and staff, and reviewed our instructional and climate data.

The visiting team affirmed many of the strengths we’re proud of — including our strong school culture, personalized learning opportunities, and strong community partnerships — and shared valuable feedback on areas for continued growth such as curriculum alignment, student ownership, and instructional rigor.
