Elementary students are attempting to build an adobe house as part of the study of Mesoamerica, while also making connections to Colorado history!
History is a lot more memorable when you get your hands dirty!
From hands-on science 🔬 to sports media 🎥🏀 to harvesting potatoes from our school garden 🥔🌱—our students are learning, creating, and getting involved in so many different ways.

On Thursday, September 17 at 4:00 PM, Vilas students will have the opportunity to participate in a virtual exchange with a 5th-grade class in the Philippines. 🇵🇭
We will gather in Ms. Mary’s classroom and connect virtually with the class. Students will have the chance to learn about one another’s schools, communities, cultures, and everyday lives while sharing what it is like to live and attend school in our small rural community.
All Vilas students, staff, and parents are invited to attend, regardless of grade level. Families are welcome to come and participate alongside their students!

Our JH/HS students recently took part in an Experiential Learning Trip filled with hands-on learning, new experiences, and leadership opportunities!
🐏 CSU Fort Collins: Students explored college life and postsecondary options
🔬 Little House of Physics: Hands-on science with density experiments
🎤 VALE School (Parker): Students presented about Vilas School District, then joined VALE classes for a morning of learning and connection
From college exploration to classroom collaboration, our students showed GRIT and a willingness to grow through every experience.

Vilas Child Find is a free developmental screening program for children from birth through age 5. If you have concerns about your child's speech, language, motor skills, learning, social development, hearing, or vision—or simply want to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones—we encourage you to schedule a screening.
