Our NHS and JH and HS leaders began the morning by reading one-on-one with elementary students and gifting them personalized books to take home.
Students then worked together on a STEM marble run challenge, using teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity to design and build their projects.
We ended the day by celebrating the accomplishments of our students through our End of Year Awards Ceremony, National Honor Society inductions, and 8th Grade Continuation.
As we close another school year, we are proud of the growth, leadership, grit, and accomplishments of our students. Thank you to our staff, families, and community for supporting our students every step of the way. We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful summer!

Our elementary students had a great time competing, cheering each other on, and showing amazing sportsmanship throughout the day. From races to field events, it was wonderful to see students encouraging one another, trying new things, and representing our school so well.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the day possible, and great job to all of our students for their effort, teamwork, and positive attitudes! 💙💛

Eliana’s hard work, determination, and commitment to her goals have been inspiring to watch. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments and excited to see her soar as she transitions to University of Denver.

As we close out another successful year, thank you for your continued support and for being such an important part of our school family.

To our overachieving senior who is accomplishing something truly remarkable—graduating from Lamar Community College before earning their high school diploma… we couldn’t be more proud! 👏
This milestone reflects not only academic excellence, but dedication, grit, and an unwavering commitment to your future. Balancing college coursework while completing high school is no small feat, and you’ve done it with determination and purpose.
You are a shining example of what’s possible through hard work and perseverance, and you represent the very best of Vilas. 💙
We can’t wait to celebrate you as you cross both stages—college and high school!

Our biology students rolled up their sleeves and dove into a dissection lab! This opportunity gave student anatomy exploration in a meaningful way—making connections between structure and function while building critical thinking skills.
From identifying organs to understanding body systems, students showed curiosity, focus, and a willingness to learn through hands-on discovery. 👏

Our 4th/5th grade students met their reading goals and celebrated with a student-chosen educational trip to Lamar! 🙌
Students practiced real-world skills by ordering and budgeting their meals at a restaurant of their choice—building confidence, financial management, and independence along the way. 💵🍽️
They then attended the Harlem Wizards event, where they were brave enough to jump into activities on the court and even meet the players! 🏀🔥
We’re proud of our students for their hard work, courage, and willingness to step outside their comfort zones! 💙

Our JH/HS students recently participated in a session with the Young Americans Center, focused on branding and logo design—a student-selected experience centered around entrepreneurship and business.
Students explored how businesses create identity, market their ideas, and connect with customers through design. Opportunities like this help students build real-world skills that translate directly into future careers.
This is what hands-on, student-driven learning looks like at Vilas! 💙

We had some students participate in the Baca County Children’s Theater performance today, and they did an amazing job! 👏✨
It was great to see our elementary students in attendance as well, supporting and enjoying the show. Experiences like this build confidence, creativity, and community.
If you missed it, you still have a chance to go!
🎭 Sunday at 2:00 PM and support these talented students and the arts!

Wishing Osman the very best as he takes the next step toward his future at CSU Pueblo! Your hard work, leadership, and dedication across academics, activities, and athletics have made a lasting impact.
From the field to the classroom to leadership roles, you’ve represented your school and community with pride. We’re excited to see all you accomplish next—your journey is just getting started!

Join us for a meaningful evening as we come together to honor and celebrate our graduating seniors from Vilas, Campo, and Pritchett 💙
