🎭 From the Page to the Stage! The Arts Matter! 🎭
Our students took a quick trip to Denver to experience the Broadway production of The Outsiders!
Many of our students read the novel last year, making this an incredible opportunity to see the characters, emotions, and story come to life on stage. 📖✨
The arts matter! They inspire creativity, build empathy, deepen understanding, and allow students to experience literature in a whole new way.

Our Junior High and High School students had a great day of learning beyond the classroom! Students attended the Lamar Community College (LCC) Career Fair, where they explored career pathways and opportunities for their futures.
They also visited the Big Timbers Museum, connecting with our region’s rich history and heritage.
From exploring future possibilities to discovering our past, it was a day full of learning and new experiences!

We will gather in Ms. Mary’s classroom and connect virtually with the class. Students will have the chance to learn about one another’s schools, communities, cultures, and everyday lives while sharing what it is like to live and attend school in our small rural community.
All Vilas students, staff, and parents are invited to attend, regardless of grade level. Families are welcome to come and participate alongside their students!

🌱 Learning, Sharing & Growing!
Last week, our Food Production students had a great couple of days of hands-on learning! Students gave Justin Carter from CDE a tour of our Food Production Pathway, worked alongside Nourish Colorado in our kitchen, and attended the Ogallala Commons Food Summit.
We were also able to harvest and share produce from our program, and our amazing baker created delicious desserts for the Summit! And just in time—the feeder pigs arrived! 🐷🥬🌾
We are so thankful for the partnerships that continue to create meaningful opportunities for our students!
