Attention parents and guardians: Registration packets are coming to your mailbox! 📬 It's time to secure your child's spot at our small but mighty school. 🏫 We kindly ask you to complete and return the necessary paperwork to simplify enrollment. You have multiple options available:
1️⃣ Email: Scan or take a photo of the completed documents and send them to kylene@vilask12.org
2️⃣ Drop off at the Back-to-School BBQ: Join us for a fun-filled BBQ event on Monday, August 14th at the school. Bring your completed paperwork, and we'll gladly collect it there.
3️⃣ Drop off anytime before then: Can't make it to the BBQ? No problem! Swing by our school office during regular hours and drop off the forms at your convenience.

Hey Vilas families!
We have a unique opportunity to participate in the Summer Food Service Program in partnership with the Colorado Food Cluster. The Colorado Food Cluster (CFC) is partnering with the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) to deliver FREE meals to students who qualify.
Students enrolled in the program will receive a weekly delivery of 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, and milk delivered directly to their doorstep. If you would like to enroll your student and determine if you qualify to receive a free weekly delivery of meals over the summer, please visit CFC’s online registration site here: https://app.coloradofoodcluster.com

We are excited to partner with an optometrist who has a mobile lab for eye exams! They could visit our community next week if we have enough interest. The optometrist can provide you with prescription glasses and contacts and dilate your eyes - making it a comprehensive experience! Individuals on Medicaid can get their eye exam and two pairs of glasses absolutely free of charge. For everyone else, the eye exam is available at an affordable price of only $80. If you are interested or have questions, please message us or call the school at 719-523-6738. The optometrist recognizes getting appointments is challenging for our area, so hopefully, this will be helpful to our students, families, and community.

They did it! 🙌 The South Baca boys powered through and set a new personal record in the 4x800m relay at state track this weekend - an impressive feat that earned them a 5th-place finish! The relay team is made up of Hayden Brooks, Ethan Barwick, LJ Willis, Mylo Lovejoy, and alternate - Osman Yanes. And that's not all; Mylo Lovejoy placed 5th in the 800m, too. Congratulations to the South Baca boys for an outstanding performance and for representing #SouthBaca at the highest level! Additionally, we missed mentioning yesterday that Mylo Lovejoy and Hayden Brooks each set new personal records in the 3200m.
